The Westin Langkawi is a luxury 5-star resort located on a private beach facing the Andaman Sea. Only 1 km from Langkawi harbour and Eagle Square and a 20 mins drive from Langkawi airport, the resort is still very private and isolated.

We arrived on the 24th of December and expected the resort to be crowded but the resort is big enough to offer privacy even during the busy holiday season. We had planned a 6 nights stay at the resort and had booked a one-bedroom suite facing the ocean but on arrival we decided on an upgrade to a beach front private pool villa for the later three nights of our stay.

The One-Bedroom Suite

The suite was big and spacious with stylish and modern interior, and of course a super comfortable Westin Heavenly Bed®.
  

Christmas Eve Festive Poolside Buffet

Since our first evening was Christmas Eve the hotel had organised an amazing poolside buffet dinner with e huge selection of food including BBQ, seafood, fresh salads with cakes and ice cream for dessert.

Instead of joining the pre dinner drink in the Breeze Lounge we decided to start our evening with a bottle of champagne on our balcony which had an amazing view overlooking the pool area and the Andaman Sea. From here we could follow the busy staff as they were setting up the tables and preparing the buffet.

During dinner the super friendly staff made sure that we had everything we needed the make this Christmas Eve dinner a great experience.

Pool Area

The Westin Langkawi offers four different pool areas including the infinity pool, the ocean rocks pool, the children’s pool and the pool at The Heavenly Spa. Even during this busy holiday season the pool areas was never too crowded and we spent our days on the comfortable sun beds with a view over the infinity pool and the Andaman sea.

Private Pool Villa

After spending a few days at the pool area the staff helped us move our luggage to our own private 95 m2 (1 023 sq ft) villa. The decision to upgrade to a private villa proved to be a great decision which we did not regret for a second!

This was a fantastic private escape and we ended up spending the next days not leaving the villa for more than short walks along the beach. We enjoyed the relaxing privacy of our own pool during the days and in the evenings we chose to have the villa staff set up a pool side BBQ. For the Villa BBQ there is a choice between having a chef barbecuing for you or to have all the fresh food come prepared and cook it yourself, we opted for the later as we did not want our privacy to be interrupted in any way.

The spacious and modern bathroom had patio doors opening up to our private massage court in which we enjoyed massage performed by therapists from Heavenly Spa by Westin™.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Langkawi!
